Project Brief
Challengers is an American romantic sports comedy-drama film directed Luca Guadagnino (Call Me By Your Name, Bones and All), and written by Justin Kuritzkes. The film stars Zendaya, Josh O'Connor and Mike Faist.
GFS developed the production's health & safety protocols and provided health and safety oversight via our OverWatch™ operations centre. This included being on call 24/7 to consult with the onsite GFS health and safety supervisor (HSS). Along with the HSS, we deployed a team of health and safety consultants for the duration of production to provide ongoing safety support to the cast and crew.
Production notes
Tashi, a tennis player turned coach, has transformed her husband from a mediocre player into a world-famous grand slam champion. To jolt him out of his recent losing streak, she makes him play a challenger event -- close to the lowest level of tournament on the pro tour. Tensions soon run high when he finds himself standing across the net from the once-promising, now burnt-out Patrick, his former best friend and Tashi's former boyfriend.
